Penobscot County (set off from Lincoln County to Hancock County in 1789, to Penobscot County in 1858)

1840 for election purposes as Grand Falls Plantation from the northern half of T2 ND; organized in 1856 and 1872; the entire township was organized in 1878; organization surrendered in 1981
