The Will of Stephen Munson

 From York County Probate Records, Volume Eight (1705-53)

   In the Name of God Amen. The eleventh Day of September 1751. I Stephen Munson of ye Town of Scarborough being very Sick & weak in Body but of perfect Mind & Memory, Thanks be given to God, Therefore calling to Mind the Mortality of my Body, and knowing it's appointed for all men once to Die do make & ordain this my last Will & Testament, That is to say principally and first of all, I give & recommend my Soul into the Hands of God that gave it, and my Body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in Decent christian Burial at the Discretion of my Executors, nothing doubting but at the general Resurrection I Shall receive the Same again by the mighty Power of God. And as touching Such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give devise & dispose of the Same in the following Manner & form

   Impr Twenty Acres of Land joining to John Stewart & Twenty Acres joining to Iames Shute, and thirty Acres lying over None Such River, I give to my hond Father and Mother during their Life, and after their Decease to be given to my Bother [sic] Ioseph Munson to him & his Heirs

   Item. I give my moveables to my hond Father & MotherI do make constitute & ordain my hond Father sole Execr of this my last Will & Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my Hand & Seal the Day and year above mentioned.
