 Previous Designations

From 1716 to 1738 the town was known as "Georgetown on Arrowsic Island." Georgetown Island was known as Parker's Island, and anciently as Erascohegan (Rascohegan) Island.

 Boundary Changes

Parker's Island and land west of Kennebec River was annexed in 1738

Small Point (now Phippsburg) was annexed from North Yarmouth in 1741

Bath-called the Second Parish of Georgetown-was set off in 1753, incorporated in 1781

Land was set off to form Phippsburg in 1814, and to form Arrowsic in 1841
